If you found me through First Tutors, welcome — you are in the right place. After more than 20 years, First Tutors has closed, but I am still teaching, and this page explains exactly how to reach me.
What has happened to First Tutors?
In their own words: “After more than 20 years of trading, First Tutors has made the difficult decision to close.” The platform is no longer taking bookings or connecting students with tutors.
For the many families who found their chemistry tutor there, that naturally raises one question: where has my tutor gone?
I am Lakhvir — your chemistry tutor from First Tutors
I taught chemistry on First Tutors for many years and was rated 5.0 out of 5 across 80 reviews. I am a fully qualified chemistry teacher (PGCE, QTS), an Edexcel GCSE and A-Level examiner, and I hold a first-class BSc in Chemistry from Queen Mary, University of London. I have over 20 years of experience, including as Head of Chemistry in a grammar school and a private college.
Now that First Tutors has closed, I teach independently under my own tuition service, L-Chemy. It is the same tutor, the same lessons and the same results — just directly with me.
What stays the same
- One-to-one online chemistry tuition for GCSE, AS and A-Level, right across the UK.
- All major exam boards — AQA, Edexcel, OCR, CIE and WJEC, plus Edexcel IGCSE.
- Bespoke live handwritten notes and exam-technique coaching from a real examiner.
- The same track record: nearly all students achieve A* or A, with many progressing to Medicine and Dentistry.
Can I still see the First Tutors reviews?
Yes. All 80 verified five-star reviews left by families on First Tutors are on my testimonials page, so you can read them for yourself.
